Spring Mountain Ranch

Nick, the girls and I really love it out at Spring Mountain Ranch. It is so gorgeous out there and we have been anticipating going out there as soon as the weather was right for it again. Well, the day finally came and we were all so excited! We brought Jasper this time...

 This is the ranch house out there:

 This is probably the most gorgeous place out in Vegas, right?

 I mean seriously- so pretty!

 Instead of having a picnic this time, we decided to go on a hike...

 After the hike, we looked at our map and noticed there was a place called Lake Harriet. A lake? In the desert? We didn't believe it, so we HAD to go check it out.

On the way to Lake Harriet...

We met Penelope the cow. Jasper and Penelope looked like they get along just fine, but then Jasper started barking at her and she got PISSED...

We carried on our way and low and behold, Lake Harriet is a natural, real, actual lake, right in the middle of the desert. Nick and I were awestruck.

 Jasper was ready for some water. There was a sign that said "No Dogs In the Water", but Nick chose to ignore it.

 Jasper was on a mission to get the ducks that were out on the water.

 He was in full investigation mode...

 And, in he went.

 It wasn't long after this picture that we got in trouble. I refrained from telling Nick, "I told you so"... only because Jasper had the TIME OF HIS LIFE. So breaking the rules was all worth it.

Spring Mountain Ranch was a hit, once again. And now we know about Lake Harriet, and it seems to be a secret because nobody knows its there! Even though it's on the map... Nobody must read maps anymore. Everyone we've told about Lake Harriet has been people that have lived in Vegas for their whole lives, just like us, and have been to Spring Mountain Ranch before and have never realized it's there.
