Back in the spring of 2010, Aubrey had a sunflower growing and it was such a fun experience for her. I think we planted some old seeds last year because they never grew...
Aubrey got some seeds from Home Depot back in January and planted them up at Nana and Pop Pop's house again. The funny part is the sunflower seeds that she picked were the ginormous, monstrous sunflowers that grow like 8 feet tall (of course). We didn't tell my Mom that though. So off Aubrey and Nana went and planted at least 20 seeds in their backyard.
Low and behold, some seeds started sprouting. Aubrey must still have that magic touch! :)
So, here are the beginnings of Aubrey's 8-10 ft. tall sunflowers! There are at least 7 of them growing... This is gonna be fun... :)
The first one...
Two little ones... aren't they cute?! :)
Another one...
There's 3 right here. One big one and two smaller ones...
A close up of the smaller ones...
So we'll keep you posted on the growth of these things. The fun thing about sunflowers, especially the HUGE ones, is that they have to grow to a really tall size so the change in growth from week to week is a lot... enough to keep a certain 5 year old excited, that's for sure. :)
Way to go Aubrey!! I am so proud of you and your little green thumb! xoxo
